Croatia free from restrictions!
Until recently, when planning your cruise, you had to pay special attention to the safety rules in force in the charter country, and sometimes also in the countries on the route. Fortunately, the restrictions have been gradually lifted for the past few weeks, mainly in countries with high tourist income. Luckily for all yachting enthusiasts, Croatia, the Mecca of sailors, is one of them.
During last year's season, the most relevant information was that on vaccinations - which products are accepted and how many doses should be taken to be considered a non-threat. Croatia now no longer applies this criterion at all to people arriving from EU or Schengen countries.
Interestingly, last year, when Croatia was one of the most liberal countries in Europe in terms of CoViD-19 prevention, the holiday season brought the country a record (13.8 million) number of tourists and huge revenues, even higher than in the pre-pandemic season. This year, if the political situation calms down, one can even hope for an improvement in this result. After all, we all miss rest in the "old" style, without restrictions and limitations.
Vaccinations - you can, but you don't have to.
Since 9 April, it is no longer mandatory to show proof of vaccination in Croatia. There is also no longer any distinction between vaccinated and non-vaccinated persons, and the associated privileging of the former. Everyone is treated identically, just as they were before the outbreak of the pandemic.
Tests - abolished
The obligation to take tests, either before travelling to Croatia or on the spot, is also no longer a problem. Importantly, this applies to everyone, including those with a recovery status.

Quarantine - redundant
The Croatian authorities have also lifted the quarantine obligation for visitors. At the moment, no conditions have been disclosed under which it might be reinstated. It can therefore be hoped that even in the event of a worsening of the pandemic situation in our country, we will spend our vacation in Croatia without any obstacles.
Masks - to your pockets
The unofficial symbol of the fight against the coronavirus - a mask that covers the mouth and nose - has become a thing of the past in Croatia. As in other European countries, the only place where you still need to wear them is in health facilities (hospitals, clinics, etc ..). So it's good to always have one with you, just in case, but in the open air, in restaurants, shops, cinemas or tourist attractions in Croatia, no one will require us to carry it.

Perfectly? Almost.
Unfortunately, there is one exception to the above rules: for people who arrive from countries outside the EU or the Schengen Area, the old restrictions have been partially maintained. Failure to have a negative PCR test or adequate doses of the vaccine can result in forced quarantine. You can find detailed and up-to-date rules on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Croatia or your own country. None of us are experts in this field, but it seems to us that the period of the most severe restrictions and cumbersome procedures is behind us.
Is Croatia worth visiting this season? The question is basically rhetorical. This country has enjoyed a well-deserved reputation as a sailing paradise for years. For the last 2 years, enjoying its charms has been a bit difficult, but now, after lifting restrictions on cross-border traffic and relaxing local procedures, you no longer have any good excuse not to try a cruise in this region 😊.
