5. Pita gyros – the most famous fast food.

Heavily seasoned pieces of meat, fries, tomato and onion wrapped in pita dough with tzatziki sauce make up Greece’s most famous fast food. This delicious and inexpensive dish should be tried by everyone on their trip to Greece.

6. Suvlaki – Greek shashlik.

This is a popular Greek shashlik made with chunks of pork or chicken. Most often, sliders are served with vegetables, sauces and fries – similar to gyros.

7. Bougatsa me krema.

This is a sweet dish, most often eaten for breakfast. It is a baked filo pastry filled with a creamy filling. It is served sprinkled with icing sugar or cinnamon.

8. Fakes – lentil soup
